Monday Tuesday
Jan 26 East Camino Cielo / Upper Gibraltar Rd

Mission to Mission Canyon Rd till it ends at Foothill Rd. Right on Foothill, which becomes Mountain Drive. Continue to Gibraltar Rd, which begins at Las Canoas Rd. Take Gibraltar Rd. past the monastery and continue to the top where it intersects Camino Cielo. Turn left and park by the water tower marked 5000 gallons.

Jan 27 East Camino Cielo - Knapp Castle

Hwy 154 to top of San Marcos pass. Turn right on E. Camino Cielo at the Cielo Store sign. Continue 2 miles, pass Laurel Springs Road (which leads down to Painted Cave), then another mile. Meet at the locked Forest Service Gate.

Feb 2 Devereux Point / Dunes

Hwy 101 to Los Carneros Rd. South past Hollister Ave to El Colegio Rd. Turn right, then left on any street. Go till you hit Del Playa Dr. just before the ocean. Turn right and go to the end and park on the street.

Feb 3 Cachuma Lake State Park

There is a $5 entrance fee, so you may want to carpool. Hwy 154 across San Marcos Pass to the Lake Cachuma Recreation Area. Pay fee at the entrance. Follow the signs to the grocery store. Meet in the parking lot. We will proceed to the trails together by car.

Feb 9 West Camino Cielo

Highway 154 to the West Camino Cielo exit before the San Marcos Pass summit. Left and continue up the hill past the mailboxes. Go several miles to the gun club. Park just beyond the entrance to the gun club by the 5000 gallon water tank

Feb 10 Francheschi Park

Mission St. to APS. Follow signs for El Encanto Hotel and park in the lot in front of the Riviera Theater (2044 APS).

Feb 16 No hike Feb 17 Lake Los Carneros

Highway 101 west to Fairview exit. Left on Calle Real at the stop light. Right on La Patera Lane to the entrance to Lake Los Carneros. Look for Silver Toyota.

Feb 23 Tunnel Road / Edison Road

Mission St. to Mission Canyon Rd. going toward mountains. Right on Foothill Rd. Go .2 miles, then left on Mission Canyon Rd. At the fire station continue for 1 mile. At the sign for Tunnel Rd. bear left and drive 1.2 miles to the end of the road. Observe parking signs. Meet at the paved road entrance to the trail.

Feb 24 Cancelled because of rain
Mar 2 El Capitán State Beach

($5 Parking Fee- Carpool) 101 N to El Capitán State Beach. Pay at and park near the kiosk.

Mar 3 Nojoqui Falls Park

Highway 101 west and then north through Gaviota Pass. Watch on right for small sign to Nojoqui Falls Rd. Follow directions to the park. Park at the trailhead to the Falls.

Mar 9 Scrubbed because of rain. Mar 10 Carpinteria Bluffs

Highway 101 east to the Bailard Rd. exit. When you get to the end of the exit area, there is a right turn toward the ocean. Park in the lot and wait by the cars.

Mar 16 Carpinteria State Beach and Bluffs

101 S to Carpinteria Ave. Right on Linden Ave. to the ocean. Park and meet at the end of the street by the beach.

Mar 17 Romero Canyon

Highway 101 east to the Sheffield Dr. exit. Go 1.5 miles to E. Valley Rd. Turn left, then almost immediately to the right on Romero Canyon Rd. Continue 1.5 miles to Bella Vista. Turn right. Trailhead is about .3 miles. Red steel gate marks the trail’s beginning.

Mar 23 La Casa de Maria

This is the new facility off Ladera Lane

Mar 24 Upper Gibraltar Road

Mission St. to Mission Canyon Rd. Continue until Mission Canyon Rd. ends at Foothill Rd. Right on Foothill, which becomes Mountain Dr. Continue on Mountain Dr. to Gibraltar Rd., which begins at Las Canoas Rd. Drive on Gibraltar Rd. past the Gibraltar Rock climbing area and watch for a pull out on the left. Ahead you will see a white design painted on the rocks on the right. It looks like this: () Park in the pull off area.

Hikes start at 9:30 and end by noon.
