June 8 —Tucker’s Grove Park

Highway 101 to Turnpike exit. Go toward the mountains. Follow Turnpike to the stoplight where it ends at Cathedral Oaks Road. Continue across Cathedral Oaks and enter Tucker's Grove Park, turn right, and go all the way to the end parking lot. Go as far as you can go. Meet on the green grassy area.

June 9 —More Mesa Beach Cliffs

Highway 101 to Turnpike exit. Turn toward the ocean. Left on Hollister. Continue to Puente St. Turn right and continue past the bike path and up the hill to Mockingbird Lane on your left. Park on Puente and meet the class at the corner to walk up Mockingbird Lane together.

June 15 —Bailard Avenue

Highway 101 south to Baillard Avenue exit at the far end of Carpinteria. Turn toward the ocean and park in the lot straight ahead.

June 16—Santa Barbara Botanic Garden

Mission St. around the mission, continuing on Mission Canyon Rd. Right at Foothill Rd. Left at the stop sign onto Mission Canyon Road. At the fork with Tunnel Road, bear to the right and continue to 1212 Mission Canyon Rd. where you will see the gardens on the left. There is an entrance fee of $3 (KCET members receive 2-for-1 admission).

June 22 —McMenemy

Highway 101 to Coast Village Rd. exit (left lane of freeway coming from SB.) Left on Hot Springs Rd. Left on Sycamore Canyon Rd. (Middle Rd.) Right on Ashley Rd. to East Mountain Dr. Right and begin looking for trailhead on left.

June 23 —Cachuma Lake State Park

($5 Parking fee—Carpool) Highway 154 over San Marcos Pass to Cachuma Lake Recreation Area. Pay entrance fee and follow signs to grocery store. Meet in the store parking lot. We will proceed to trail in cars from there.

June 29 —San Ysidro Canyon

Highway 101 to San Ysidro Road exit. Go toward the mountains one mile and turn right on East Valley Road. Continue one mile and turn left on Park Lane. Turn left at the fork, taking Mountain Drive. Continue several hundred yards and park before the locked gate near the trailhead entrance.

June 30 —SnyderTrail

Highway 154 over San Marcos Pass to Paradise Road. Right. Continue several miles, passing Fremont, Paradise, and Los Prietos Campgrounds. Look for a wide parking area on the right with a silver Toyota Tercel.

July 6 —Toro Canyon

Highway 101 to Padaro Lane exit. Left over the freeway, then right on Via Real to Toro Canyon Rd. Continue toward the mountains until you see the sign on the right for Toro Canyon County Park. Right and continue to the entrance to the park. Meet at parking area.

July 7 —Refugio to El Capitán Bike Path

Highway 101 N to exit for Refugio State Beach. Park under the freeway bridge. Wait at the cars.

July 13 —Cold Spring Trail

Highway 101 to Coast Village exit—left to Hot Springs Rd. (left at stop sign). Follow Hot Springs Rd. to 192 (Sycamore Canyon Rd./Middle Rd). Left on 192 to Cold Springs Rd. (Sign for Westmont College). Right on Cold Springs and at fork go right (Cold Springs Rd.) Continue to top—make severe right on Mountain Dr—continue until you see water crossing the road. Park nearby. Trailhead starts to the right of the water.

July 14 —West Camino Cielo

Highway 154 to the West Camino Cielo exit just before the San Marcos Pass summit. Left and continue up the hill past the mailboxes. Go several miles to the gun club. Park just beyond the entrance to the gun club by the 5000 gallon water tank.
