April 13—Goleta Beach / UCSB Lagoon

Highway 101 to Highway 217 (Ward Drive). Take Sandspit Rd. exit. Make left toward the beach. Enter the Goleta Beach parking area and park at the far right. Meet in the parking lot.

April 14—Mount Calvary Monastery

Mission St. around the mission, continuing on Mission Canyon Rd. Right at Foothill Rd. Continue to the 2nd stop sign at Mountain Dr. Left on Mountain Dr. Just before Sheffield Reservoir turn left on Mountain Dr. At the next stop sign, continue across onto Gibraltar Rd. Continue Gibraltar Rd. to Mt. Calvary Monastery entrance (sign on the left.) Drive onto the monastery property. Meet in the parking lot.

April 20—Mount Calvary Monastery

Mission St. around the mission, continuing on Mission Canyon Rd. Right at Foothill Rd. Continue to the 2nd stop sign at Mountain Dr. Left on Mountain Dr. Just before Sheffield Reservoir turn left on Mountain Dr. At the next stop sign, continue across onto Gibraltar Rd. Continue Gibraltar Rd. to Mt. Calvary Monastery entrance (sign on the left.) Drive onto the monastery property. Meet in the parking lot.

April 21—White Rock Day Use Area / Santa Ynez River

Highway 154 over San Marcos Pass to Paradise Rd (Santa Ynez Recreation Area). Travel several miles, past the Fremont and Paradise Campgrounds. White Rock Day Use Area is on your left. The sign is a little hard to see, so watch for it after passing Paradise Campground.

April 27—Cachuma Lake State Park

($5 Parking fee—Carpool) Highway 154 over San Marcos Pass to Cachuma Lake Recreation Area. Pay entrance fee and follow signs to grocery store. Meet in the store parking lot. We will proceed to trail in cars from there.

April 28—East Camino Cielo—Knapp Castle

Highway 154 to the top of San Marcos Pass. At the Cielo Store sign, turn right on East Camino Cielo. Continue for 2 miles. Pass the Laurel Springs Rd. leading to Painted Cave and continue approximately 1 mile. Meet at the rusty locked forest service gate on the left.

May 4—McMenemy

Highway 101 to Coast Village Rd. exit (left lane of freeway coming from SB.) Left on Hot Springs Rd. Left on Sycamore Canyon Rd. (Middle Rd.) Right on Ashley Rd. to East Mountain Dr. Right and begin looking for trailhead on left.

May 5—Toro Canyon

Highway 101 to Padaro Lane exit. Left over the freeway, then right on Via Real to Toro Canyon Rd. Continue toward the mountains until you see the sign on the right for Toro Canyon County Park. Make a right and continue to the entrance to the park and parking area. Meet at parking area.

May 11—Parma Park

Mission to Mission Canyon Rd. Right on Foothill / Mountain Dr. Mountain Dr. to left at Mission Ridge. Left at the Fire Station. Continue as it becomes Stanwood Drive. Watch for sign on your left for Parma Park on a curve.

May 12—Refugio to El Capitán Bike Path

Highway 101 N to exit for Refugio State Beach. Park under the freeway bridge. Wait at the cars.

May 18—Gaviota Hot Springs

Highway 101 north through Gaviota Pass. Exit at Highway 1 turnoff. Turn right at exit stop sign. Drive 0.4 miles to the end of the road and park in the Gaviota State park parking lot. Driving time about 45 minutes.

May 19—Las Positas Friendship Park / Jesuit Property / Douglas Preserve

Highway 101 to Las Positas Exit. Go toward the ocean. Pass Modoc Road. Continue to Las Positas Friendship Park on your left. Park near the playing field, also on your left.

May 25—Memorial Day Holiday: no class May 26—Rattlesnake Trail

Starting from the Mission, take Mission Canyon. Rd. to Mountain Dr. Continue on Mountain. Dr. to Las Canoas Rd. Pass Schofield Park on your left. At the bridge, park and wait at the trailhead.

June 1—East Camino Cielo / Pendola Station

Mission St. around the mission, continuing on Mission Canyon Rd. Right at Foothill Rd. Continue to the 2nd stop sign at Mountain Dr. Left on Mountain Dr. Just before Sheffield Reservoir turn left on Mountain Dr. At the next stop sign, continue across onto Gibraltar Rd., past the monastery, to the top where East Camino Cielo intersects—the sign says Pendola Station and Arroyo Burro. Left and park by the water tank that says 5000 gallons

June 2—East Camino Cielo / Gibraltar Rd.

Mission St. around the mission, continuing on Mission Canyon Rd. Right at Foothill Rd. Continue to the 2nd stop sign at Mountain Dr. Left on Mountain Dr. Just before Sheffield Reservoir turn left on Mountain Dr. At the next stop sign, continue across onto Gibraltar Rd., past the monastery, to the top where East Camino Cielo intersects—the sign says Pendola Station and Arroyo Burro.
